Yarra Valley Events – Wesburn Primary School Fair

You may have seen our signs around the Yarra Valley recently promoting the Wesburn Primary School Autumn Fair.

The fair will be held on Saturday 26th March and fingers crossed the weather holds out for them as we are really looking forward to it.

There will be tasty food, live music & entertainment, market stalls, trash & treasure, a jumping castle, demonstrations & much much more.

Why not drop into the school at 2850 Warburton Highway, Wesburn between 10am & 3pm and help support one of our local Primary Schools!

The Yarra Valley, Supporting Cancer Patients In Many Ways

As you may be aware, Andrew McMath Real Estate are proud supporters of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).  Each year during October we change everything to pink (including our branding) to promote awareness of the disease & also hold various fundraising activities for the NBCF. We also ensure that a portion of every sale we make is donated to the NBCF to help fund research into the cure for this awful disease.

We are always excited though when we hear of others ways that people thoughout our local Yarra Valley community are also helping support sufferers of cancer and are happy to promote any of these service & fundraisers through our various social media channels.

The newest service we have been contacted about recently is being held by “The Salon of Warburton”. Coleen & Vanessa from the salon are holding FREE ladies pampering nights for any local woman who has, or has had, any form of cancer (not just Breast Cancer).  They are also lucky to have the support of the skincare company Purestuf who is donating all skin care products, plus goodies for the ladies to take home!

The first night is being held on Thursday 24^th March at 6pm and you can join in by calling 5966 5646 to book a spot.

Hard Rubbish Collection in the Yarra Valley

Driving around our streets at the moment you may have seen your neighbours putting out their hard rubbish for the council collection.

Each year in the Yarra Ranges Council area, between February and April, residents can place hard, bundled branches and metal waste out for collection. Click here to see the rules & restrictions & some other important information on what you can and can’t put out for collection and when it will be collected.

Our Mixed Netball Team is Up and Running!

If you are one of my “friends” or “fans” on facebook, you would have seen that our office now has our own mixed netball team. Everyone plays every Monday night at the Yarra Centre & so far have done really well & won 2 out of 3 games. Unfortunately I am not able to play every week, but have been filling in if Im needed.

We are also using this team to promote how the Professionals support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) by wearing the official Professionals NBCF T-Shirts.

With Ash running centre & the big boys Marty & Cam at each end of the goals, they certainly look like a daunting team, however as everyone is having so much fun playing they really don’t mind if they win or lose (OK Ash minds, but everyone else doesn’t!).

Amanda’s of Yarra Junction in The Age

Did anyone see the great article in The Age last Tuesday (18th Jan 11) about our local cafe “Amanda’s”? Titled “A Fork in the Road” it was a fantastic article on one of our areas best cafe.

Our team love the food (and the service!) at Amanda’s and we regularly visit there for, not only lunch, but also the odd breakfast. It was also great to see a Yarra Junction restaurant being advertised in such a great way to the rest of the state!

For all of you who haven’t yet visited Amanda’s then drop by, you wont regret it. It is a few doors up from our office on Warburton Highway in Yarra Junction and is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm & Saturday 8am to 1pm.

The Yarra Valley Supporting The Flood Victims

Along with the rest of Australia (and even the world) our team has watched in both amazement & horror over the last few weeks at the devastation the floods have caused in Queensland and now Victoria.

Throughout the whole ordeal however it is heartwarming to see the care & generosity of other people and the ways in which people have been recovering from these disasters.

Thankfully all of our colleagues offices in the affected areas have survived with no significant flooding or damage, however it is unfortunate that many of our colleagues houses have been affected. Here is a blog written by Glyn Morgan, our Managing Director, on how the Professionals offices & staff have done & also how you can support the flood victims (all of them, not just our colleagues!).

To show our support and help raise some money, for both the Victorian flood victims & Queensland, we are holding a fundraising BBQ tomorrow outside our office. Why not drop by after 11am and have a sausage in bread for lunch?! We would love to see you and are looking forward to raising as much money as we can.

3D Virtual Tours of Yarra Valley Properties Here Now!

Our sales team at Andrew McMath Real Estate love being able to provide our clients & the community with new & interesting ways to out all the information they need on properties you may be interested in.

Earlier this year we introduced photo tours of all our properties along with floorplans so that everyone could see exactly what the property was like. We are now happy to announce that we are taking that one step further and offering every property a 3D Virtual Tour!

These tours are an excellent way for all purchasers to see what the property would look like once they have their own furniture and their own special touches added. You are able to change the colour of the walls, add different floor coverings, move around, add new furniture & even add special touches such as paintings & rugs.

Yarra Valley Events – The Warburton Auction

What a busy weekend it is going to be in the Yarra Valley. Not only do we have to vote, but there are also lots of events on in the area.

My last blog post mentioned the Yarra Junction Primary School Carnival, but also on the same day is the 29th Annual Warburton Auction.

The Auction will be held on Sunday 28th November at the Warburton Recreation Reserve (on the Mac Sparke Oval) and starts at 10am Sharp!

Past events have had great success with items such as farm machinery, vehicles, antiques, household items, toys & tools, bric-a-brac, motor bikes and much much more.

All proceeds of the day go directly to the Warburton-Millgrove Sports Complex which will benefit our local clubs such as the Warburton Football Netball Club, Warburton Millgrove Cricket Club & the Warburton Scout Group.

So after (or before) you visit the Yarra Junction Primary School fete why not drop into Warburton & have a bid at the auction.

Yarra Valley Events – Yarra Junction Primary School Carnival

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Well not only do we have to vote (again!) but on Sunday you can head over to Yarra Junction Primary School for their Carnival.

It should be a great day with rides for the kids, showbags & a jumping castle. You wont go hungry with lots of hot food, ice creams plus there will be a white elephant stall, second hand book stall & plant stalls.

Don’t miss the performances by the skipping squad, live music performances and much much more!

The carnival is open between 10am & 3pm on Sunday 28th November at the Yarra Junction Primary School (on Warburton Highway).
